Soil to Surface at FIT looks at what agricultural waste and local textile materials can become when farmers, craftspeople, and designers work on equal ground. The exhibition brings together small-scale women farmers, women’s cooperatives, and designers from Türkiye with FIT students, faculty, and alumni.

The interesting part isn’t just a new material. It’s an attempt to put the people growing and making it on the same footing as the designers—a more substantive premise than treating sustainability as a finish applied at the end.
