Aperture has a new home on Columbus Avenue, and its inaugural installation is a love letter to the city through photography. Aperture Loves New York, organized by executive director Sarah Meister, brings together more than twenty artists, including Diane Arbus, Dawoud Bey, Robert Frank, Deana Lawson and Carrie Mae Weems.

A free photography show with this lineup is reason enough to stop in; the bookstore makes it a good browsing afternoon rather than a single-room detour. The opening-month guest-publisher program described in the listing was for September, so don’t assume that part is still running.
