NYC Parks is throwing a free, family-friendly silent disco in Alley Pond Park this Friday, Aug. 7, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Pink BBQ Area near Springfield Boulevard and 76th Avenue in Queens. There are two 30-minute sets (7:30–8:00 and 8:00–8:30), and you don’t need your own gear — bring a photo ID to borrow headphones on site, though supplies are limited. The event is open to the first 50 people on a first-come, first-served basis, costs nothing, and requires no registration; the location is accessible. It’s one of several free summer programs at Queens’ largest park, which also runs Urban Park Rangers adventure course sessions on Sundays. If you want a spot, show up early — capacity is the constraint, not the price. For questions, the contact is (929) 475-9475.
