The 15th Annual NoMad Jazz Festival wraps up today (Saturday, Aug 8) with a full day of free world-class jazz in Madison Square Park — and it’s the best $0 you’ll spend all summer. The Mainstage lineup tonight features José James, The Jazz Gallery All-Stars with Renée Neufville, Ben Wendel, George Cables, Jaleel Shaw with Camille Thurman, Godwin Louis, John Ellis & Double-Wide, and Yuhan Su. But the festival goes beyond the headliners: Saturday’s family programming includes live music, face painting, bubbles, and lawn games, plus a new food market on Broadway between 23rd and 24th Streets (noon–8 PM) with food and drinks from the neighborhood’s best restaurants. Produced by The NoMad Alliance, the week-long festival has been filling NoMad with free performances since Aug 2. The outdoor concerts at Madison Square Park run all day; grab a spot on the lawn, pick up something from the food market, and let the brass and rhythm do the rest.
