The It’s My Park volunteer program — run by NYC Parks through Partnerships for Parks — has a free cleanup at Sunset Park in Brooklyn on Wednesday, August 12, from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m., organized by the Parent-Child Relationship Association (pcr.nyc). Volunteers enter at the corner of 41st Street and 7th Avenue and meet by the metal containers, then spend the morning cleaning up the park. It’s free, no experience needed, and if you can’t make Wednesday, the same group leads an identical session at Leif Ericson Park (67th Street & 9th Avenue) on Friday, August 14, also 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. — meet by the red shed.
